Andii Viveros was recently crowned as Florida’s first transgender prom queen.

Andii Viveros is the second transgender prom queen historically but the first in the state of Florida.

17 year old Andii Viveros beat out 14 candidates to become the second trans teen nationally to become the prom queen at her school. To make it even more interesting, the prom king is 17 year old gay male student Juan Macias.

Andi is two years into her transition, and she says she knew she wanted to be a girl since she was little. Her parents are supportive of her choice to transistion. Andii hopes the crown will help pave the way for other trans teens like her.

As early as age 4, Wyatt Maines asked his mother, “When do I get to be a girl?” And he told his father he hated his penis.

Wyatt always liked girl’s clothes and movies, while his twin brother Jonas played with traditional boy toys.

Born identical twins, the siblings share the same DNA, but their gender identification took divergent paths. Now, at age 14, they are brother and sister, as Wyatt’s transition to Nicole is well under way.

Nicole is 5-feet, 1-inch tall and 100 pounds; her twin brother is 5-feet, 6-inches and weighs 115 pounds — and they are best friends.

Their story — marked by tearful emotions, bullying at their first school and eventually a lawsuit and a move to a different town — was chronicled in the Boston Globe on Sunday.

“I created this series of photos in response to Iran’s president Ahmadinejad’s naive comments that we do not have homosexuality in Iran. I wanted to say that we do have homosexuals and we have lots of them. My hope was to give solace to Muslims who feel they cannot be Muslims and homosexuals at the same time. I wanted to say that your love for God or belief in good for humanity should not determine who you’re choosing to love. My hope is that more people come to see that we should leave people to make their own choices, regarding who they want to love. I think the message of love from all of the prophets was lost, in all the noise from the later organizers of religions and their followers. I wish to remind people of that original intention of our belief in a higher good.” -

Historical Homecoming Kiss of the Day: For the first time in Navy history, a lesbian salior was picked to plant the traditional homecoming kiss on her significant other.

Through a raffle held onboard, Petty Officer 2nd Class Marissa Gaeta won the right to be the first off the ship when Oak Hill docked in Virginia Beach after several months at sea. As part of a time-honored tradition, the first off the ship gets to share the first kiss with a loved one.

23-year-old Gaeta was greeted by her girlfriend of two years, Petty Officer 3rd Class Citlalic Snell, 22, and the two locked lips while the crowd gathered around them cheered.

“It’s something new, that’s for sure,” Gaeta said after the historical smooch. “It’s nice to be able to be myself. It’s been a long time coming.”
